Billy Horner

is a unique character, he restores and drives classic cars, operates a motor grader expertly without all the fancy automatic systems, can name people that most Arizonans have never heard of, and he publishes a world class magazine.

The Kelton family has been building in Arizona since World War II.  I grew up in the business as did Billy Horner and our mutual fondness of “the old days” is something that brought us together as friends and collaborators.

Arizona Contractor and Community magazine is a world class publication that Billy Horner has built from scratch using his old school technique of actually talking to people, reading old articles and doing his homework with unmatched determination.  While I have written a few articles for the magazine, I have to tip my hat to the effort, expertise, and pride that Billy Horner, Doug Towne, and Laura Horner have put into publishing this magazine six times a year.    I encourage everyone who is interested in Construction History in Arizona to visit their website at www.arizcc.com  The magazine is available in hard copy or digital, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to build your own library of Arizona History.    I have a collection of Arizona Highways Magazines that date back to the 1940’s and I would put Arizona Contractor and Community in that same collectible category.
